Subject: His name is Luka

Hi all
A quick reminder on this dark, dull and wet Sunday that there is Irish warmth and light and magic coming to Canterbury tonight in the form of Christy Moore's little brother - the equally amazing Luka Bloom.

I've gathered just some of the comments from facebook and twitter over the past few weeks at the news Luka is coming.... in order to raise a bit more awareness of just how popular this guy is - to those already in the know.... see below.....

The harsh truth is, despite his magnificence, I've only managed to persuade 57 people to buy a ticket, in an expensive 200 seat venue. Totally my fault, I misjudged how many would know Luka. So, if you happen to be free tonight and want a very special treat, please come if you can. I'm just on damage limitation at the moment.... :(

"Oooh that will be sooo good! _at_FolkintheBarn I was lucky enough to support _at_BloomLuka brilliant just brilliant!"

"Adore Luka's music, sad not to be able to be there..."

"So so so excited about this gig!! Met Barry (Luka) many many years ago! Such a great Artist!"

"Such a wonderful performer Luka. Hope it goes well. One of the most passionate and engaging artists I've ever had the good fortune to see."

"Luka Bloom is wonderful. Saw him play in Sydney many years ago - Diamond Mountain still brings tears to my eyes."

"We would have loved to be there if we weren't on holiday- so sad to miss this legend. I recommend everyone who can, get tickets!"

"We first heard Luka Bloom a few years ago I think it was Cambridge Festival. We both fell instantly in love with the unique sound of his guitar, gorgeous vocal and lyrics. We try to cover 'Sunny Sailor Boy' but can't even come close! He is one in a million and not to be missed. . ."

"What a great gig, I just wish I was closer! Good luck!"

"Luka played Norwich a while back, you could hear a pin drop. A great songwriter, a great guitarist , a great storyteller, go see him.
and overheard at the Met, Bury last night...
" I had no idea he was so good!"
And
" I'll be booking Luka for our venue as soon as I can. He's certainly a better act most of the other acts out there."

As you can see, many of these comments are from people unable to attend - sadly! So if you are able, I'd be thrilled to see you......
