AFTER DARK TALES: TONGUES OF FLAME
7.30pm, ?8/7 adv

This month we join Giles Abbott for the story of Richard Francis Burton. A tale that runs to the heart of Empire and travel. Burton was an Englishman fluent in over 40 languages, he led an expedition to the true source of the Nile and was the first non-Muslim to enter the holy city of Harar. Burton turned exploration into a practice of human freedom.
