Subject: Hottest Tickets in Town :)

Hello
Just two tickets left for Chris Wood at the Black Robin on 11th January... and CONGRATULATIONS you've set a new world record for (almost) selling out a FitB gig (3 days), Love that! Thank you!

Back in June a friendly challenge was set by mother and daughter Chris and Kellie While to see who would sell the most tickets for their respective Christmas Bands. Well it's pretty much a tie. The Aggies (Chris) ( St Agnes Fountain) reached their target first.... but the Albies (Kellie)(Albion Christmas Band) have been creeping up on them steadily and have now just passed them in the race. To be fair - Aggies couldn't sell any more as the venue is full, but I'd just like to thank you all for supporting both these gigs, it was a bit of a gamble taking on two, and I'm very pleased it's paid off.

Don't forget - right in the middle of these two festive shows is a very special one-off concert by Canterbury's own Luke Jackson with his friends Connor Downs on Drums and Andy Sharps on Bass. Luke and Connor have just returned from a successful first tour of Europe, and gained many more fans and friends over there. Here's a clip to give you an idea of the fuller sound of Luke backed by a rhythm section.

and here's something more gentle with Bass Player Andy on backing vocals...

See! he's great isn't he....

If you haven't seen Luke live for a few years - the growth and maturity in his performance and writing is huge and extraordinary. This coming Sunday he is off again to Europe to tour, opening for Marillion - playing large and sold out venues. He'll be seen by tens of thousands which means this may be one of the last chances we get to see him up close in his home town. If you have teenage offspring or grandchildren, and they're into Ed Sheeran or Sam Smith etc - bring them along to see Luke, they'll be mightily impressed.
Luke Jackson Trio Sunday 14th Dec
The Lounge, CCCU, St Georges Place
£10 online, £11 in advance, £12 on the door

Other Good Stuff.....

I'd also like to say CONGRATULATIONS to our very important, friendly and helpful sound engineer - Phil Wilson and his wife Catherine on the birth of their first baby Oliver Wilson. Well done! another 'Independent Music Production' :)

.....AND some brilliant news for Gerry Colvin fans.... Gerry - along with Terry Lilley and the 'Terry and Gerry' band have been invited to open for Status Quo on their Spring Acoustic Tour next April, playing five of the biggest and best venues in the land. The nearest date to us is Sunday 26th April at the Hammersmith Appollo.... tickets go on sale tomorrow morning from the Quo website.... shall we organise a minibus? Let me know asap if you'd be interested. Ticket prices are £35 / £40 / £48.50 / £55 for London, then there'd be the cost of the coach on top, and any booking fees. I'm just waiting to hear of the coach hire cost from James at YMS Canterbury. It's looking pricey, maybe we're better off waiting till March when we can see him again in Canterbury for much less! Let me know if you're interested anyway and I'll have a think......

Keep warm!

Debs
