John Jones and The Reluctant Ramblers will take to the ancient pathways of England for a short 3-day walking / gigging tour of The Ridgeway, starting at the iconic stone circle at Avebury and walking east to the Thames Valley with gigs at Marlborough and the Nettlebed Folk Club.

JJ says "This is one of my favourite paths in England and we retrace the steps of our White Horses Walk in 2012, passing the Uffington White Horse. There was a time when I thought this might not happen this year so it will feel very special."

Gigs:

Sun 7th June:?a session in a small pub in Wantage - this has space for only a very limited number of people, and is now full.

Mon 8th June:?Nettlebed Folk Club -- see http://www.nettlebedfolkclub.co.uk/whats_on.html

Further details will appear on John's website soon after Easter - www.jj-rr.org

Our apologies for some parts of the Oysterband website being off-air for a few days last week - our web hosting company undertook a major update of its technology, and that made it necessary for us to do some updating too.

Normal service has been resumed, more secure than ever we're pleased to say.

All the best

John,  Alan,  Ian,  Dil,  Al,  Adrian  x

The Big Session moves to the handsome spa town of Buxton in the heart of the Peak District to celebrate May weekend. Saturday night's big concert has 3 sets from Blair Dunlop, Oysterband, and then Oysterband and June Tabor for their only gig together this year.

If you want a breath of fresh air, bring your walking boots and meet JJ at the Opera House forecourt just before 11am for a walk around the town and up to the vantage point of "Solomon's Temple" to view Buxton and the surrounding hills. Back by 1pm for the session (see below).
