Subject: Beware - tickets flying off the shelves!

Hello
What a difference a week makes! This time last week I was trying to persuade you all to come out and buy tickets for Nick Harper.... and just seven days later I'm here to warn you that several shows are selling very well now and in danger of - dare I say 'selling out'! That's one thing I love about this job - it's so unpredictable, and enjoyable when I have news like this to report.

So Nick - well it was a small but select gathering.... but what a show! Here's what some said after.....

Nick Harper - not for the faint of heart , but let go of the hand rail and immerse yourself in his otherworldly and intense performance and you wont regret it - great gig. Andy

One man, one guitar, show over three hours. An exceptional evening. Martin
Just saw Nick Harper on Saturday and it was another excellent gig. Nice one Debs really appreciated it. Was tired but somehow I couldn't stop myself from dancing and the realities of life became insignificant. It was just what I needed! Many thanks to all that made it possible. Can't wait to do it again. Sue

Still trying to define Nick Harper but perhaps that's probably not poss. A great musician, moments of sheer artistry and moments that transported you to an unexplored and unexpected places. Angela

It was as Martin said, an exceptional evening... there is nothing like a Nick Harper gig.... He remains one of my favourite performers, certainly one of the most exciting and dramatic, as well as clever. Andy (above) was at his third Nick gig and it took him till now to really get Nick. Sometimes I think those artists that take a while to get - can end up growing on you the most. It took me ages to 'get' Chris Wood, for example, but once 'got' the hooks go in deepest. We will continue to book Nick for as long as he wants to come...and I will continue to hope some more of you will try and join the Nick Harper club with me and his other ardent fans.

Onwards, and next we have the divine Cara Dillon coming with her full band - to the Gulbenkian on Sunday. As I write - there are only 15 tickets left for this, and seven of those are single seats. So if you were leaving a booking decision to the day - you may be unlucky.

The duo Radigun are opening for Cara - let me tell you a bit about them. It was Ben and Fred, but Fred has gone a-travelling so instead it's Ben and Nicola.

Ben is the talented guitarist from Canterbury band Arlet, (who opened for Alister Atkin last year and played at our 10th Anniversary Party) and Nicola is the amazing fiddler player from young folk outfit 4Square. Coincidentally she has also been a dancer with The Demon Barbers - who are coming to us on the 9th May for another unmissable show at The Gulbenkian, with their XL Roadshow....another high energy version of the ever popular The Lock In! Folk music - folk dance - meets street dance and hip hop - please do come to that if you can.
Back to Sunday - Radigun, with Cara, Sam and band to follow - this is going to be a lovely evening, see you there.
