Hey All
Welcome to the weekend! Where did this week go? Can anyone tell me....
Cara was divine as we knew she would be - so great to have a full house for
her, her amazing band and for the wonderful opening duo Radigun.
We are cramming the gigs in this month and many of you already have tickets to
see Show of Hand - Mr Phil Beer tonight by the beach in Whitstable. There are
still a few good seats left as I type. A pair in the second row and fourth
row and a few nearer the back and in the balcony. Be great to see you if you
fancy coming to see one of the most open, informative, talented and hard
working musicians on the circuit. If you've never seen or heard of Phil Beer
- come along and be enthralled and educated. Phil is a living repository - of
all things folk and bluesy. Not just a concert - more a documentary, but
always a warm experience packed with beautiful songs and playing.
Book online here and choose your seat
www.playhousewhitstable.co.uk
or just
turn up - there may still be some room. Tickets £14, Doors 7pm for 7.45pm
start.
Some tenuously linked news.....
Our cancelled Grace and Tony gig on the 28th June, has been replaced by a solo
gig from our home grown Canterbury Oyster Mr Alan Prosser.
Details and booking links to follow, but write the date down now for a chance
to see Alan playing solo at the Black Robin Inn.
and finally.... if you managed to catch the Folk Awards this week - (not yet
but I will) I did hear that Nancy Kerr won Folk Singer of the year. How
fortunate that we had booked her already for Sunday 7th June..... you see,
stick with us - you get the best before they even know it! ha ha!... and as
for Horizon Award winners The Rails - well watch this space.... :)
See you later guys
