It's the 50?? Anniversary Broadstairs Folk Week! Come and celebrate with us in our beautiful seaside town. Over 500 events in a week; a festival campsite, craft fair, Big Parade and top quality acts in the concert marquee; dances and ceilidhs till the small hours; workshops and intimate gigs in small venues around the town.

Special 50 Celebrations include: a full week of dances celebrating the origins of Folk Week as a dance festival; a Big Ukulele Band: Golden Wednesday Bling Day; 50 years of Folk Song and hundreds more events throughout the week.

Festival Tickets cover admission to everything - workshops, concerts and dances - just get there early!

You can also buy tickets for single events - so if you only want to see a couple of events you can click through to our website, find your favourites and then add to basket.

We're looking forward to seeing you at our 50?? festival!

Get into the 50th spirit now by writing a new sea shanty - Write new words (3 verses/chorus) celebrating Folk Week's 50th anniversary to the tune of the Sea Shanty Nelson's Blood. Send it to us by 1?? July. On 8?? August at 2.30pm the best entries will be sung at the Sailing Club and the winner selected.  The winning entry will be sung with rousing choruses at the Shanties on the Jetty on August 9th.

Wear some bling or some lam? on Wednesday 12th - or Golden Wednesday, as we now call it - let's turn the town gold!

Retrieve your ukulele from under the stairs and join one of the practices for UKES AHOY on Wednesday afternoon at the bandstand. Download the notes on the website news page.

We have three concerts which look back over 50 years of folk
on August 7th 50 Years of Folk Song; August  12th -Golden Oldies and Singing the Protest

The country dance programme at the Festival Campsite includes many familiar callers and there is more than a nod to the past 50 years with some of their workshops.

Ushti Baba are the band for the Fabulously Fifty Fancy Dress Night on Sunday 9th - you have fifty years of fashion to choose from!
