WESSEX ACOUSTIC FOLK
CLUB
What a delightful night we had with the one and
only Vin Garbutt last Friday. Vin was on top form and presented us with an
evening of a selection of some of his newest songs from his latest CD mixed in
with some old songs from years past. What an amazing song writer he is.
The evening got off to a lively rocking start
with Men in Black who got us all tapping our feet and singing along to some
?golden oldies' we could scarily remember the words to!
Thank you to all who came and tested our full
house layout with the new furniture in place. It was cosy but I hope not too
cramped.
Coming next are the fabulous Chris and Kellie While.
Friday 3rd July
is the night.
Kellie takes after her Mum with a stunning
voice, making their duets out of this world. Double the talent for the price of
one.
To complete the line up for the night we had to
get someone special - and we have! The red headed singer and
multi-instrumentalist previously with Colvin Quarmby and the Gerry Colvin Band,
now playing with ?Trad arrr' and ?The Jigantics', Marion Fleetwood, will
be opening the evening.
Her very recently released album "Holding SPACE"
is a ?must buy'. Every track is a delight! So make sure you have enough money
to buy a CD from Chris and Kellie and one from Marion! After hearing them all
you will want to take home a memory of the night.
It is rare for talent like this to be on the
same bill at a small club and it promises to be one of our most memorable
concerts of the year.
