The Stage Is Yours
Fri 17 July 7pm
ART31 present The Stage Is Yours,
showcasing the next generation of young performers from across Kent at
Gulbenkian on Friday 17 July at 7pm.
The
Stage Is Yours is a fantastic night of varied performances
by local, young performers. Proving that age is no barrier, ART31 have put
together an amazing line-up of acts, ranging from dancers to singers, actors
and even a magician!
Acts performing at The Stage
Is Yours include:
Josh
Hassell ? Josh has been singing for 7 years now, and sings a variety of
styles, but with favourite influences including Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra
and Dean Martin, his favoured genre is jazz and swing. He was a featured singer
on Thinking Stream?s single Byron Bay, which is available on iTunes and has
nearly 3,000 views on YouTube.
Aspire
Dance ? formed by ex-Canterbury resident Zoe Russell, Aspire Dance
Company are based in Tonbridge and allow disadvantaged young people to express
their talents through theatre and dance.
Ashley
Green ? Whitstable-based Ashley has been performing magic for 8 years,
and was a member of The Magic Circle?s Youth Initiative. He will be performing
a snippet from his stage show ?The Colour of the Mind?, which will focus on
mind-reading.
The
Second Decade ? a local, all-girl band, playing
alternative and rock songs. The Second Decade have played at previous The Stage
Is Yours events and also at Simon Langton?s Lion Fest.
Johanna
Coulson ? Johanna is a singer and ukulele player who, since playing at
the last The Stage Is Yours event, has been busy gigging around Kent. She will
be recording over the summer, working towards an autumn release.
ART31 are dedicated to programming art, music and theatre for
young people, by young people. Open to anyone between the ages of 13 and 25,
ART31 is growing and evolving, with plans to organise festivals, cinema and
theatre events. ART31 is funded by Arts Council England, Kent County Council,
Artswork and supported by Gulbenkian.
