WESSEX ACOUSTIC
Our folk club year came to a close with a
superb evening with some of the very best female artistes around.
Thank you to all who came and enjoyed the
talents of Chris and Kellie While, with a delightful opening set from the
talented Marion Fleetwood, and to all of you who have supported the club over
the last year.
The next few weeks see a plethora of summer folk
festivals around the country and we like to take the opportunity to get out
there and see ?new to us' acts, and some old favourites we just can't afford to
have at our club.
We hope you enjoy your summer and return to the club suntanned and
refreshed on Friday
September 4th for a variety/showcase night. We open the evening
with a set from Wiltshire
based Jess Vincent,
a delightful singer-songwriter currently supporting Reg Meuross.
Following Jess we have a familiar face in the
form of John Bosley,
lead singer with the fabulous Suffolk band The Bounty Hounds, now also
appearing in a duo along with the Bounty Hound's melodeon player, Alex Goldsmith. It
is lovely to hear the brilliant singing voice of John standing out without the
rocking backing of the Hounds in full flow.
Finishing the night we have a full set from Southampton based
lively trio, Paper
Trains. They have appeared at the club before and were very
well received . A bit of Bluegrass, Country, Cajun, Blues and more, all mixed
to bring variety and foot tapping music.
So you get three fabulous acts in one night for
the princely sum of ?8 pre-booked, ?10 on the door.
Book any time between now and then by replying
to this email or phoning Kathy on 01202 732239 or text 07590 411515.
Help us keep music live.
