The Final Countdown?
Sidmouth FolkWeek kicks off this week!
Two pre-festival specials launch the event on Thursday
30th July
with Kate Rusby (8pm) and on
Friday 31st July
with Port Isaac's Fisherman's Friends (3.15pm) Both
concerts are fast heading for a sell-out, so it's advisable to get tickets
soon.
And then we're off, in earnest, from 31st July
- 7th August
with the best summer holiday folk festival experience with a
week of hundred of programmed concerts, celiidhs, folk dances, Children's
festival events, youth events, storytelling, special shows, informal sessions,

Tickets are selling fast for headline evening shows
(8pm) at our centre-piece concert venue The Ham Marquee, with advanced sales
for Show Of Hands now stopped (NO
MORE ADVANCE TICKETS AVAILABLE), The Spooky Men's Chorale (LIMITED ADVANCE
TICKETS AVAILABLE) though tickets are very likely to be
available on the door. Other evening headliners include: Julie
Fowlis, The Poozies, Altan, Vin Garbutt, Blowzabella and Mara!,
and Faustus.
Bulverton roots nights start early at the newly
revamped venue with music sessions, followed by the main evening gig ??- with The
Demon Barbers XL, Peatbog Faeries, fRoots
Acoustic Night with Bristol instrumental
ravers Spiro Telling The Bees and Amadou
Diagne, Edward II, a double bill with
Tantz and CoCo and the Butterfields, a Eurodance
Party with Topette and Will
Lang's Silent School Disco - then an energetic Late
Night Extra ceilidh and a new early hours chill-out space at
Betsy's Lounge.
We finish off the week with a spectacular Torchlight Procession and Firework
Finale on the Esplanade (Friday 7th,
10-11pm)!
