The full programme for the 2015 Festival is now live at www.canterburyfestival.co.uk.  Festival Friends are currently enjoying their Priority Booking period and the Box Office will open to the general public from this coming Monday (3 August). They have already performed a sold-out Spring Tour, and have four further dates in December. But, in advance of their winter performances they have agreed to perform a very special gig just for the Canterbury Festival.

Film Screening in the Cathedral

 

 

 

 

 

 

27 & 28 October 2015 - Canterbury Cathedral

Eighty years ago T.S. Eliot's Murder in the Cathedral received its world première performance as part of the Canterbury Festival. To celebrate, the Festival will host a screening of the 1951 film adaptation, offering audiences the unique opportunity to experience the film in the location where the dark deeds of its plot took place.

Whether you prefer playing Chopin or Chop Sticks, don't forget to find one of Luke Jerram's 'Play Me I'm Yours' pianos that will be positioned across the city during the Festival.  Alternatively, visit the Cathedral Chapter House to view his beautiful glass viruses.

Haloween falls within the Festival period and to reflect this spine chilling time of year there will be a lecture on how to survive a Zombie epidemic, Victorian tales of the supernatural in Female Gothic and plenty of gruesome walks around the city to get you in the mood.
