The Lighthouse Kitchen presents:
The Cuisine Of Vietnam & Cambodia
Serving
from 7 - 9:30pm
Chef Paul will be delighting us this month with food from the East.
Celebrating the cuisine of Vietnam and Cambodia with their
distinctive character drawing on many different influences from local
ingredients like lime leaves and five star anise to the spices of
india or the baguettes introduced by colonial France. Curries from
theses countries are traditionally served with dill and eaten
alongside pickled vegetables and rice or baguettes.

Cambodian Saraman: Cardoman and ginger beef curry with peanuts
or
Vietnamese Cari Chay: Aubergine, coconut and lime leaf curry
Comes served with pickled vegetables and sweet and sour chili salad,
rice and bread.

Smugglers
Session Special feat. The Bucket Boyz

FREE ENTRY (Though donations welcome)
A post-Smugglers Festival shindig which is hot off
the heels of everyone's favourite 4 day event of music and
merriment!
We will welcome some knee slappin', crazy anarcho blue-trash from
the Amsterdam bayou, in the form of The Bucket Boyz!
Some of you will have already caught this trio as they shook up the
festival site on more than 3 occasions at the weekend.
The boys are soon to head back across the channel to their homes on
the outskirts of Amsterdam.
They are keen to reach out to the refugees currently struggling to
survive in the makeshift camps that have been amassing on the other
side of the Channel.
Thank you to all have already donated at the festival. Their van
will be outside the venue to accept any further donations of items
that could be of use over there. Suggested items would be: sleeping
bags, shoes, pillows, tents, canned food, children's toys, plus
anything that you might feel is suitable.
Any donations of money would be very much appreciated!
We will also be welcoming music from:
Meg
Janaway
Meg is an engaging singer/songwriter who will perform her original
soulful folk songs.
Emily
Watts
Influenced by female singer/songwriters such as Cat Power, Joni
Mitchell and Beth Orton, Emily Watts uses piano and vocals to
perform her haunting self-penned songs. Notable performances
include Proud Camden, Lounge on the Farm, Canterbury Festival
Fringe and she has supported Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly & most
recently electronic duo, Wyles & Simpson.

This Saturday we host two events! Our 'Jazz & Pies'
afternoon session, with music kicking off again in the evening ...
Saturday
12th September
The Richard Bundy Trio
Music from
8:30pm
FREE ENTRY
Their sound can be described as a melting pot of jazz, hip-hop,
poetry and melody. Richard tells of the beautiful and magical,
inspired by his Guyanese, UK and Canadian roots.
As well as concentrating on his own music, Richard has recently
toured with The Sugababes, Charlene Soraia supporting Emilie Sande
and is Musical Director to triple platinum selling artist Marlon
Roudette.
Jazz & Pies

from 12pm // Live music and pies from 12:30pm
FREE ENTRY
Saturday welcomes back the monthly ?Jazz & Pies'
afternoon session, consisting of The Lighthouse house band
featuring bass, drums and keys. Horn players, singers and
guitarists are welcome to sit in with our resident rhythm section.
This session has fast become a popular date in The Lighthouse
calendar.
A pie meal plus a pint of cask ale or small glass of house wine can
be purchased for ?10.

South
Deal School (DJ Night)

From putting on renowned parties at the now demolished South Deal
School, the collective was born. Sharing a keen interest in
collecting and spinning records, the group was soon eager to share
the fun further afield. Ever since, ?South Deal School' has been
supplying a variety of Disco and Dance music from across the globe,
to events up and down the country, keeping a smile on your face, as
you keep on dancing.

They are a gypsy jazz trio consisting of Thomas Abrahams and Nev
Willis on guitar as well as Maurizio Borgna on bass guitar. Taking
you on a musical journey to the swinging sounds of Paris' Hot Club
of the 30s and 40s and inspired by the lightning guitar playing
style of Django Reinhardt, there is something for all music lovers
to enjoy in their performance.
Plus ?. We are pleased to
announce the inclusion of the Reggae Roast! Delicious
tastes of the Caribbean mixed with the traditional English roast
dinner, at an incredible price of ?7.50! Chef Tyrone will be
serving you from 12pm. Relax and eat while enjoying some reggae
tunes at a volume that is proven to aid digestion and stimulate
taste buds.
This is to be a regular fixture as part of our
weekly ?Sunday Service'. Leave the cooking to Tyrone and join us
