Hiya

The first showing of the 'Hopping Down in Kent' folk opera is this Thursday (26 November) at The Old Brewery Store, Faversham (doors 7pm) - Whoop! Whoop! It's gonna be fun!

Have you got your ticket yet? There's still time to buy one from the Shepherd Neame Box Office - see below - or, if you're in or near Faversham, from the Sheps Visitor Centre in Court Street.

The show will include photos and moving images, plus several recordings of people's memories of hopping. There'll be songs old and new, a Second World War theme, oh, and oysters have a little feature...

As well as Bob Carling and Dave Woodward,  there are many guest performers including The Acoustic Architects,

- Larry Klatzko

- Simon Dundas

- Lizzi Stephens

- The Bredgardettes

- Bob Kenward

- Paul Carbuncle

- Lucky Moyo

And there'll be a reading by the fantastic local poet, Fiona Sinclair, from a Vita Sackville-West poem.

Plus the wonderful Dean Tweedy - of Marvellous Murals fame - will be doing a live painting of a Hopping scene during the show.
