Alma
brings together fiddle players Emily Askew (Askew Sisters & The Dufay
Collective), John Dipper (Methera & English Acoustic Collective) and Nicola
Lyons (4Square), and guitarist Adrian Lever (Acaysha). Inspired by fiddle traditions from England
and across Europe, at the heart of Alma's music is the joyful sound of three
fiddles playing in harmony. Coming from
all corners of England, each member of Alma brings their own individual style
and influences to the band, which they weave together into a bright and vibrant
sound.

are Ben Tyzack (guitar, vocals & harmonica), Constance Redgrave (bass guitar, vocals & percussion) and
Maurice McElroy (vocals & percussion). They were formed in 1992 as a
project based around Ben?s love for early blues and take inspiration from their
country?s rich musical heritage.
Spikedrivers? vocal harmonies, songwriting, and unique instrumentation
make a fresh and exciting sound.

As
usual, for our pre-Christmas slot, Pam has booked Phil Beer with his choice of
guest and, just as last year, it will be something really special. Phil and Paul had a legendary partnership in
the 70?s and 80?s as Downes & Beer and they also worked together in The Arizona Smoke Revue. Phil is one half of the English acoustic roots duo
Show of Hands. Paul works very closely
with Mick Ryan, both on his folk operas and as a duo. They are long-standing friends of the Club
and it promises to be a great evening.
The Club will be packed, so come early!

22ND ? SALLY IRONMONGER TRIO

Sally Ironmonger is a singer-songwriter based in Medway,
who writes and performs in collaboration with her husband, Brian Carter
(guitar). Tonight, Al Clarke (harmonica)
will join them. Her songs sit very
comfortably within the genres of folk, roots, poetry and comedy, and have
featured in a number of BBC documentaries.
Amongst others, they have supported Barbara Dickson, Jacqui McShee, Jez
Lowe and Chris Wood. If you?ve seen
Sally before you won?t need any convincing that this will be a highly
entertaining evening! And, there will be
mince pies and a festive raffle!
