The Magic Lantern

The Magic Lantern is the musical moniker of Jamie Doe. With an immediately arresting voice that has been compared to Chet Baker and Jeff Buckley and a unique guitar style that takes elements of folk fingerpicking, Flamenco and West African music.

The 10 songs that make up his second album - Love of Too Much Living - sound deceptively simple at first but open up to reveal a warmth, humour and wisdom that mark The Magic Lantern out as an artist with a unique songwriting voice.

 

 

Saturday 19th December

Djanan Turan

Djanan is a quirky, witty singer-songwriter and producer of Turkish origin, based in London.

This five piece live band set is a vibrant, melodic and fun mixture of various influences from raga to Turkish beats, cabaret to disco.

Friday 18th December

Richard Rozze Trio

Playing Blues, Groove and Fusion.

Based in London, Richard can be seen performing in a variety of contexts on the jazz, folk and pop scene and has earned a reputation as a creative and flexible musician.

Richard fronts the Richard Rozze Group featuring Paul Booth, Malcolm Edmonstone, Dave Whitford and Andrew Bain. Richard's debut album ?Learning To Fly? was released on jazz and world music label ?Pathway Records' in November 2014. With this group Richard showcases his original compositions, embracing Jazz, Blues and the songs of the great ?tunesmiths'.

Worry Dolls

Worry Dolls are an indie-folk duo from London who initially bonded through having the same fiery red locks. Their music is characterized by sublime harmonies and tongue-in-cheek, honest lyrics and they have received praise from Paul McCartney to Joan Armatrading. In the last 3 years, they have forged something substantially stronger than a hair colour match - a beautiful and captivating result.
 


REGGAE ROAST RETURNS!


We are pleased to announce the return of the Reggae Roast! Delicious tastes of the Caribbean mixed with the traditional English roast dinner, at an incredible price of £7.50! Chef Tyrone will be serving you from 12pm. Relax and eat while enjoying some reggae tunes at a volume that is proven to aid digestion and stimulate taste buds.

This is to be a regular fixture as part of our weekly ?Sunday Service'. Leave the cooking to Tyrone and join us here!
