Good afternoon to you all! We bring news from the revolving doors of The Lighthouse.
 

HAPPY NEW YEAR!


 

Thank you to every one who saw in the New Year with us last week. Some splendid an inspiring dancing from y'all! How good were The Swinging Dice hmm? Koz on the decks too!
Big thanks for supporting The Lighthouse in the two years we have been open now. You all make it such a special place!


Now, onto the serious matter of ale! As a big thank you for all your support and good natures, we will be introducing an ale happy hour into the equation! This also ties in nicely with the fact that we have made it into the prestigious official CAMRA Good Beer Guide for 2016!



Do spread the word and join us! So in nice big bold type it looks like this ...

Before we scroll to the bottom and have a look about whats coming up this week, I thought I'd give you all a heads-up about a couple of special ticketed events we have coming up in association with Independent Venue Week. You can read more about the IVW project HERE. We are pleased to announce that we are one of their official venues.

We are set to have performances on consecutive nights from Inspiral Trio (3 members of Gong!) and a seven-piece spectacular from Cocos Lovers!

Thursday 7th December

Classic Pub Night

Open from 5pm

Come on up to the house for a drink and some background music.

Remember, as I mentioned above, its the start of our all new
HAPPY HOUR.

From 6 till 7pm all cask ales are £2.90 a pint!

 

 

Saturday 9th January

Billy & Phil feat. The Hatton Brothers Rhythm Section

Pub open from 5pm // Live music from 8:30pm

FREE ENTRY

Usually seen as a duo, this special performance will feature brothers and Lighthouse co-owners, David and James Hatton on bass and drums.

Their set will include a mixture of engaging original songs and covers ranging from The Felice Brothers, Richard Thompson to seafaring shanties.

Friday 8th January

The Indecision

Pub open 5pm // Live music from 8:30pm

FREE ENTRY

They create their uniquely flavoured music with ideals firmly rooted in 1960s ska and rocksteady ideology.

The British eight-piece combine elastic up-tempo rhythms along with a few narratives of life; the happiness and heartaches and the triumphs and troubles it brings, to create an energetic, purposeful sound to pick up your feet to.

Featuring Benji Powling on saxophone!

Join us for the weekly ?Sunday Service' at The Lighthouse. The doors will open at 12pm, with live music to commence from 4pm.

This week's service brings you ?

Dulcie May Jazz Trio + Guests

Join us for an afternoon of atmospheric intimate music with Dulcie May, Stephen Bridgland and Maurizio Borgna, plus special guests!

Performing a collection of old classics with a modern twist, with influences such as Ella Fitzgerald and Lianne Carrol, Dulcie's clear soft voice and passionate interpretations have made her a popular and in demand artist throughout Kent and London. Her regular duo partner Stephen Bridgland, who's sensitive, textural guitar playing acts as a perfect sonic foil for Dulcie's voice. Joining them is Italian Maurizio Borgna on Bass, who's charismatic charm and clever playing earns him a reputation as an outstanding jazz player across the borders. 
 


REGGAE ROAST RETURNS!


We are pleased to announce the return of the Reggae Roast! Delicious tastes of the Caribbean mixed with the traditional English roast dinner, at an incredible price of £7.50! Chef Tyrone will be serving you from 12pm. Relax and eat while enjoying some reggae tunes at a volume that is proven to aid digestion and stimulate taste buds.

This is to be a regular fixture as part of our weekly ?Sunday Service'. Leave the cooking to Tyrone and join us here!
