Applause
Outdoors 2016
Are
you planning a fete, fair or festival in your area in 2016?
Fresh
for 2016 Applause Outdoors is offering professional, unique performances, which
have been developed especially for outdoor events. The performances are
interactive, suitable for all ages and will compliment your other sideshows and
attractions. I
You
can let us know if you are interested in having an Applause Outdoors
performance at your event by completing and returning an Expression of
Interest form attached. We’ve already received a good number of forms so we
will start allocating performances later this month, so don’t delay in getting
the form returned to us as soon as possible. Please note that the allocations
are made depending on the date of your fete/event and the availability of the
artists.
What
do you pay?
Applause
subsidises the cost of the Applause Outdoors performance so all you pay is £100.
Although this is an increase on last year’s fee we believe it is still good
value for money as Applause pays the performance company between £350 and £700
per booking (the performers fee is non refundable). Applause aims to provide
community events that do not charge an entry fee (or only charge a nominal
entry fee of no more than £2) with exciting, unexpected arts performances for
everyone to enjoy.
About
Applause Outdoors companies:
Applause
Outdoors companies are professional performers with a wide range of experience
performing at festivals, events and theatres nationally and internationally.
Applause Outdoors companies have created their performances specifically for
village fetes, fairs and festivals. The companies very much enjoy performing at
local outdoor events because of the friendly, community atmosphere.
You
can visit our website to find out
more about Applause Outdoors and companies involved or if you have any
questions please do get in contact.
Hosting an Applause Outdoors
performance:
Please remember that the performers are guests in your community and they may
have travelled a long way, so having someone who understands who they are and
what they are doing at the event and to greet them on arrival is important.
Event hosts should offer Applause Outdoors companies an easily accessible
parking space, a place in which the performers can change into their costumes
and somewhere for them to safely store their belongings during the event. It is
always recommended that hosts provide performers with refreshments - they may
not have time to get themselves something to eat and drink during the event so
the offer of a cup of tea and a sandwich is much appreciated!

Feedback
from event hosts during Applause Outdoors 2015:
Who
were they? Where did they come from? Fantastic the way they just appeared, got
people involved, made them laugh then went on their journey to seek out another
unsuspecting group. They brightened up the whole event. Allhallows Village Fete host. The Honk
Project: The Dancing Day Trippers
Excellent
quirky and amusing family entertainment. Good at building a responsive and
participative audience. This Applause Outdoors performance was ideally suited
to the nature of our event. Ightham Summer Celebration host. Dizzy O’Dare: The Giant
Balloon Show
Just
right. The kids loved it. The performance suited our event perfectly. Applause
Outdoors performances lift the event to a different level making it special,
more exciting, more memorable. Robertsbridge Summer Picnic host.
