Monday 25th January - Sunday 31st January 2016

Independent Venue Week is a 7 day celebration of small music venues around the UK and a nod to the people that own, run and work in them, week in, week out.

We're proud to work with many official venues participating in Independent Venue Week, in fact, WeGotTickets grew out of an in-house ticketing system for Oxford's most fondly remembered live music venue, The Zodiac. It's these type of venues that give artists their first experience of playing live in front of an audience and for fans, somewhere to get up close to artists that may be playing stadiums and festival main stages one day. With lots of small venues facing closure across the UK, it's more important than ever to get out and support live music and your independents. Read on for our pick of what's on sale.

Eliza And The Bear
Specialising in the romping folk-pop of Mumford & Sons and the Lumineers, and taking equal inspiration from the likes of Arcade Fire and Broken Social Scene, Eliza and the Bear play at both Guildford Boileroom and The Bullingdon in Oxford to support Independent Venue Week. Shop now.

Misty Miller

Known for her raucous live performances, Misty has honed her live set through touring with Jake Bugg, Television and Eels alongside her own recent headline shows. She plays Brixton Windmill. Shop now.

Coventry's Coal Vaults

The Tin Music and Arts is committed to creating a thriving, artistic hub in Coventry, and as an official IVW venue, hosts Winter of '82 and a special love music, hate homophobia show. Shop now.

100 Club

The oldest independent venue worldwide, London's 100 Club has seen legendary performances over the years from the likes of Muddy Waters, The Clash, Sex Pistols and Suede. Shop now.

This Is The Kit

This Is The Kit is the indie-folk project of Kate Stables, whose third album Bashed Out released last year was something of a breakout. She plays at The Boileroom and Leicester's The Musician for IVW. Shop now.

Guildford Boileroom

Founded in 2006 by an independent collective dedicated to promoting the highest quality live music, the Boileroom is now one of the South East's most established and respected live music venues. Shop now.

Teen Daze

Having hosted the likes of Coldplay,  La Roux and Naplam Death, Exeter's The Cavern Club hosts Teen Daze for IVW - one of the biggest names on the post chillwave crest of electronic pop that's still going strong. Shop now.

We'll be celebrating Independent Venue Week at The Cellar next Thursday for a killer line-up of local favourites: Maiians, Cassels and Rosie Caldecott.

The Cellar has long championed live music and holds a special place in the hearts of many a local band and Oxford gig-goer, giving bands like Foals and Young Knives a much needed platform to perform. Nightshift magazine sums it up: "After forty years of hosting gigs, The Cellar is Oxford's oldest venue, one where the spirit of rock and roll has infused itself so deeply in the walls it can never be killed, lost or diluted. It's essentially the archetypal small gig venue". Shop now
