Monday 25th January - Sunday 31st January 2016
Independent Venue Week is a 7 day celebration of small
music venues around the UK and a nod to the people that own, run and
work in them, week in, week out.
We're proud to work with many official venues participating in Independent Venue Week,
in fact, WeGotTickets grew out of an in-house ticketing system for
Oxford's most fondly remembered live music venue, The Zodiac. It's
these type of venues that give artists their first experience of
playing live in front of an audience and for fans, somewhere to get
up close to artists that may be playing stadiums and festival main
stages one day. With lots of small venues facing closure across the
UK, it's
more important than ever to get out and support live music and your
independents. Read on for our pick of what's on sale.

We'll be
celebrating Independent Venue Week at The Cellar next Thursday for
a killer line-up of local favourites: Maiians, Cassels and Rosie
Caldecott.
The Cellar has long championed live music and holds a special place
in the hearts of many a local band and Oxford gig-goer, giving
bands like Foals and Young Knives a much needed platform to
perform. Nightshift magazine sums it up: "After forty years of hosting
gigs, The Cellar is Oxford's oldest venue, one where the spirit of
rock and roll has infused itself so deeply in the walls it can
never be killed, lost or diluted. It's essentially the archetypal
small gig venue". Shop
