Good Year to you Smugglemuffins,
Well here we are. Standing on the precipice of a new year. Poised,
ready to dive in. To what? We can't be totally sure. This is the
genesis moment. 2016 is as yet void and without form. Who
am I to forecast the happenings of a whole as yet un-happened year?
No-one, that's who.
...wow, sorry about that 'Smugglemuffins'
quip. Just re-read it - don't know what I was thinking.
Patronising. Usually i'd go for 'brethren' or 'comrades' or
something. I must be tired. I'll have to have a power-nap
once i'm finished this newsletter.
Anyway, upon reflection I've realised no-one is expecting me to
forecast a whole year of stuff, that's mental.
So I'l just start with about a week of stuff, and keep it very specific.
Lets just talk about, say, Cocos
Lovers. There we go, a bit of direction. Phew.
Two exciting shows coming up for the original Smugglers band.
These shows are also part of Independent Venue Week
and so provide a great opportunity to support the establishments
that are keeping music in our country alive.
TUESDAY 26TH JANUARY, THE
MONARCH, CAMDEN
- A rare excursion to our capital. Tickets HERE
THURSDAY 28TH JANUARY, THE
LIGHTHOUSE, DEAL
- An ever special hometown show. Tickets HERE
Cocos Lovers are still in the throes of post-production for their
hotly anticipated but elusive fourth album. Rest assured though, they
have been working hard. The latest incarnation of their sound sees a
healthy step into more electronic and psychedelic realms. Come down, see for yourself.
Over and out Smugglers,
