Cocos Lovers
With
support from Molly's Lips
Doors 7pm // Live music from 8:30pm // Tickets
?8 in advance - available via Smugglers Records Shop and online HERE
Operating well beyond the remit of alt-folk, Cocos Lovers
(pronounced Co-Coss) are a distinctive musical force, seamlessly
channeling influences from Africa, the US Deep South and several
other real and imagined corners of the globe, while staying ever
faithful to their Kentish roots.
Their music swells with powerful choir-like harmonies and glorious
widescreen melodies, and they've earned a reputation for fantastic
live performances with an ever-changing instrumental line-up of
mandolin, acoustic and electric guitars, harmonica, violin, musical
saw, flute and a unique blend of drums and percussion. The latest incarnation
of their sound sees a healthy step into more electric and
psychedelic realms.
This show is in association with Independent Venue Week: A
seven-day celebration of small music venues around the UK and a nod
to the people that own, run and work in them, week in, week out.
