- The tunes workshop at
The Gun, Horsmonden on Wednesday (the 10th February) will focus
on the tunes workshoppers have chosen to play for the BIG SPRING
DANCE at Frittenden on the evening of Saturday the 19th March.
The workshop starts at 8pm, and is free. The tunes we have lined
up so far are: The
Tipsy Parson, Jackie Tarr, The Chatham Hornpipe, Paddy Carrey,
Dribbles of Brandy, Uncle's Jig, Spirit of the Dance, The Gypsy
Princess, The Louth Quick Step, Peeler Creek, Bewicks Hornpipe,
and Captain Pugwash. They are all up on the website!
- This month our lovely
free last Sunday of the month session (the 28th, from 8pm) at Frittenden's
Bell & Jorrocks pub features our great friend Bob Kenward, a
man who is well known for his tuneful and well crafted songs,
but perhaps not so well known for another of his great
interests, traditional songs...
- Please put THE BIG
SPRING DANCE with the Horsmonden tunes workshop band and caller
Rachel Roberts from 8pm on the 19th March in your diaries. We'll
also have our pals Ollie and Malcolm Woods along to help jolly
the band along... Tickets will be ?7 and ?4 (usual
concessions). Please bring friends and family to
this lovely friendly evening of dancing and
playing, games, songs and laughter! Email me or ring 07985
522734 for tickets.
