WESSEX ACOUSTIC
Still fuzzy from a brilliant club night with the
lovely Steve Tilston and talented Andy Stone.
Thank you all you lovely people who came and
enjoyed the music.
There are several things to note for the
up-coming concert in May:
It's been a while since we had Gerry at the club and it's lovely
to welcome him back with his current band, musicians Jerome Davies,
double bass, Trish Power, accordion and Lyndon Webb, guitar.
Folk-pop legend Gerry Colvin must be one of the
most endearing and energetic musicians on the planet, just as much at home
playing small clubs as he is supporting Status Quo on their Aquostic Live Tour.
This multi-talented singer-songwriter performs all his own material, combining
catchy melodies with thoughtful lyrics on love, society, angst and Johnny Cash!
His be-suited on stage performance combines Frank Sinatra, Lee Evans, and the
afore-mentioned Man in Black. Genius? Madcap? Maverick? Yes, all of these things?and
a lot, lot more.
Supporting Gerry is Dorchester based
singer/songwriter/folk club organiser Bob Kirkpatrick.
Gerry is appearing at Wessex Acoustic on Friday
May 20th at 8.15pm.
Tickets are ?10 if you book ahead. Please email
John Butcher on j.w.butcher_at_btinternet_dot_com
or call him on 01747 850212 to book for Gerry after 9th May. You can book NOW
by replying to this email before that date.
I am having a new knee joint fitted in mid May
but do not have a firm date yet. I will know soon. Please refer to John for
bookings to ensure we don't miss out on anyone.
I hope to see you there!
Don't forget to check out our mini-fest Folk at the Forum
