Stage & Song: A Summer of Gulbenkian Opportunities!
Love to dance? Maybe music?s more your thing? Whatever your interest, there?s
some brilliant opportunities for young people coming up at Gulbenkian during
the summer holidays this August!
The
month starts with two week-long dance projects. Open Access Summer Dance Project, runs
Mon 8 - Fri 12 August, and is for those who love to dance and are keen to
develop their skills. This week of dance and fun builds up to performing a new
piece on the Gulbenkian stage. A perfect way for any 14-18 year old dancers to
kick off their summer holidays!
The
Advanced Summer Dance
Project runs Tue 16 - Sat 20 August and is for 16-18 year olds
with a little more experience. This exciting 5 day summer school will be led by
internationally renowned Jasmin Vardimon Company and will culminate in a
performance on the last day. Sessions will explore the work of the company
through repertoire and creative work.
Places
for each of the dance course projects are ?100, and there are bursary places

Towards
the end of the month, young musicians aged 11-19 years old are invited to take
part in Canterbury Rock
School. This 5 day course is bursting with specialist workshops
for song-writing, singing, running a band, performance and jamming. Canterbury
Rock School is suitable for all enthusiastic and dedicated vocalists and
instrumentalists, with a minimum experience level of two years. Workshops are
delivered by top music educators and professional musicians. The fee for the

Also bOing! International Family Festival, run by Gulbenkian,
brings yet another performance opportunity for 13-25 year olds, with the ART31 Kent Stage.
ART31 are on the hunt for talented performers from a wide range of art forms,
so whatever your talent is get in touch with them for your chance to perform at
