Juan Martin

Sat 21 May 7.30pm
Gulbenkian, Canterbury

Juan Mart?n, a truly awe-inspiring guitarist, composer and all-encompassing musician returns to Gulbenkian on Saturday 21 May with a new flamenco programme of music, song and dance direct from Spain.

The show brings together the prize winning singer Amparo Heredia ?La Repompilla? (La Union 2015 and Madrid 2016) and the elegant dance of Luisa Chicano who tours with the Junta de Andalucia?s shows and has appeared with Juan Mart?n at the Barbican in London.

This is at the vanguard of modern flamenco and brings together ?the cream of Spain?s dancers? (The Times) with the intensity and emotion of one of the world?s finest guitarists.

?He has a terrifyingly good technique and an absolute dominance of the guitar, filling the concert hall with crystalline clarity.? El Mundo

?Juan Mart?n reminded us of the power and beauty of flamenco pure and simple. No me etricious stage tricks, just one long enthralling sequence of instrumental solos, songs and dances by the brilliant troupe? The Independent, 5 stars

?Juan Mart?n?s flamenco rhythm energy and passion will pin you to the wall? Folk Roots

Juan Martin will be at Gulbenkian on Sat 21 May at 7.30pm. Tickets: ?18 / Student ?15.  For more information and tickets please visit www.thegulbenkian.co.uk or call 01227 769075.
