Please pass
this email on to anyone you think might be interested in local
traditional and old fashioned music events and workshops!
- Chorus night is on
the 1st June because it's the first Wednesday! If you fancy
giving it a go, join us at Marden's West End Tavern from
8.30pm. Bring an unaccompanied chorus song (suitable for
singing in company over a beer) if you can, bring a
friend - and bring your reading glasses if you need
them!
- The free tunes
workshops this month are on the 8th and 22nd June at the Gun,
Horsmonden, from 8pm. The last two workshops' tunes are on the
website now. They're played at
tempo and also slowly for learning. And check out the recent tune types video -
especially if you're Mick!
- The first Sunday
tunes session - where we play lots of mainly English tunes
including many well known ones from the workshops - is on the
5th June at the Gun and Spitroast, Horsmonden from 8pm.
- We've organised a
tunes and songs session at The Unicorn, Marden on the 18th June
from 8pm with Ollie and Malcolm Woods - so it will be an
evening with proper ooomph! (Richard's planned event for that
date has been cancelled until a later time. More on that when
the details come clear... )
- We're planning
another session at The Phoenix pub in Faversham's famous Abbey
Street, on the Saturday night of the town's Nautical Festival. It'll be
a sea song sing song with tunes, songs from individuals,
community songs with song sheets and general jollity from
8pm on the Friday night of the annual festival, on the
23rd July. It was good fun last year... If you'd like to join
the crew, (for numbers sake) please let me know at gmatkin_at_gmail_dot_com
