AT MARGATE
7:30pm,
?4/?5 OTD
Electromatronic brings a collection of live
electronic music to the lovely Tom Thumb theatre in Margate.
CSMA
Using a large collection of modern hardware synthesizers, CSMA
blend classical structures, Berlin-school sequencer techniques and
carefully controlled textures. Taking their influences from
Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Stravinsky and many others they use a
combination of analogue and digital synthesizers as well as
custom-written software to take you on a unique musical journey of
strange sounds and complex rhythms.
Their
new album "Cryosphere" is out now on Altitude Records.

Iris Garrelfs
Iris Garrelfs is an artist and composer working across performance,
installation and mixed media projects. Her practice draws on
improvisation, music, visual art, film, locative media, and
photography.
In
performance Garrelfs often uses improvised voice, moulded into
complex sonic collages and site specific experiences, which have been
compared to artists such as Yoko Ono, Henri Chopin, Joan La
Barbara, Meredith Monk and Arvo Part. In the late 1990s she was one
of the early practitioners to combine laptop processing with vocal
improvisation.
