What about you then Smugglers?

We're still decompressing post-smugglers. But we're back on the horse soon and we've got some pretty exciting things to share with you. This year still has plenty to offer.

For now though, I just wanted to draw your attention to tonights events at The Foundry in Canterbury. Some Smugglers stalwarts are descending there this evening.

The Douglas Sisters, 8.30pm

Though sisters Poggy and Tasha are both very fine songwriters in their own right, their music takes on a new resonance when played together. Echoes of their shared past ring through strong and powerful, with vocal harmonies executed as only sisters can. Each song feels like a folk classic resurrected from the ages - but with an arresting modern twist. This music represents the vitality, beauty and indeed absurdity of family life. To hear them is to be invited into their hearts as daughters, sisters, lovers, mothers and overall, as women.

Papylonian Babooshkees, 9.15pm

The Babooshkees emerged earlier this year after an inspiring trip to the little known land of Papylonia. They came back confused, disorientated and keen to share the experience with the residents of Merry Olde. Accordion, Saxophone and a range of percussion including bodhran, pandeiro and bones weave together to transport you past Brazil, Ireland and Russia and into the rewarding depths of The Papylonian Isles.

Hopefully see you there team.
