FORTHCOMING GUESTS:

OCTOBER 4TH ? VIN GARBUTT - CLUB?S 43RD BIRTHDAY
(
http://www.vingarbutt.com/)

We hope that you can join us on this very special evening, which will mark 43 wonderful years of live acoustic music at the Club. Vin Garbutt, one of the most sought after performers on the folk scene, will be there to help us celebrate. Vin discovered folk music while still at school and, at the age of 21, threw caution to the winds and became a professional musician. Early on, he established himself as a singer and songwriter of fine socially conscious, and environmentally aware songs and is renowned for his intertwining of anecdotes. He is a real must see!

OCTOBER 11TH ? MAIRE NI CHATHASAIGH & CHRIS NEWMAN
(
http://www.maireandchris.com/)

M?ire N? Chathasaigh and Chris Newman are both virtuoso performers in their own right and have been playing together since 1988. M?ire has been described as the greatest Celtic harpist of our age. Chris is one of Britain?s leading acoustic guitarists and a prolific composer and arranger. Together they combine to produce a wonderful blend of traditional Celtic, jazz, baroque and contemporary music.

OCTOBER 18TH ? ANDY IRVINE
(
http://www.andyirvine.com/)

Andy Irvine emerged onto the Dublin folk scene in 1962 and has been a leading figure in Irish traditional music ever since. He is a multi-instrumentalist and a fine songwriter. Andy has been part of many of the great Irish groups, from Sweeney's Men to Planxty, De Dannan and Patrick Street. He is also well known for his collaborations with Paul Brady, Dick Gaughan, Christy Moore, Davy Spillane and others. He has frequently featured on the BBC?s Transatlantic Sessions. Come early!

OCTOBER 25TH ? GILMORE & ROBERTS
(
http://www.gilmoreroberts.co.uk/)

Katriona Gilmore (fiddle, mandolin) started playing local folk clubs in the Knebworth area with her guitarist father at the age of 14. In 2011 she joined a new line-up of The Albion Band. Jamie Roberts (guitar) comes from a musical family which includes his sister Kathryn Roberts. He was a member of the young traditional band Kerfuffle and more recently joined a new venture, The Dovetail Trio. Together, they are known for their fine musicianship, award-winning songwriting and wonderful harmonies. They have been nominated for the BBC Radio2 Folk Awards on three occasions.
