JOHN
HEGLEY:
NEW &
SELECTED POTATOES
Sunday 23
October, 7.30pm
The UK?s
favourite performance poet, comedian and musician hits the road, mandolin in
hand. On Sunday 23 October he is stopping at Gulbenkian for two very special
performances.
At 2pm, join John
in this family friendly show (I am a Poetato) as he dips into an animal
alphabet of poems about people, pets and other creatures.
At 7.30pm he
returns for an evening performance (New & Selected Potatoes) of pieces new
and older, sung, spoken and awoken with dance: meditations upon family, celery
and happier Daleks. Light and lyrical. Deep and daft. Come and
sing.
John Hegley is a
regular sell-out at The Edinburgh Festival. He has performed at the Montreal
Comedy Festival, the USA Comedy Festival in Aspen, with Ulrika Jonsson &
Anita Dobson in The Pyjama Game and on BBC R4's Hearing With Hegley.
John Hegley is
widely known as one of the country's most innovative comic poets with several
best-selling volumes of poetry to his name.
