Hello my little Piranha Fish,
I hope the onset of Autumn hasn't bummed you out, as they say.
If it has - never fear! Smugglers Records is here. We will out-bum
you, as I think they also sometimes say.
A few bits of exciting news.
Firstly, the
record shop has undergone a delicious refurbishment,
and reopens
tomorrow (Friday 14th) with the launch of our very own beer, Smugglers Gose.
You might have come across it at the festival this year. It's a
zesty delight, and now you can take it home in a lovely tin can
(shown above), designed by our own Billy
Glinn. You might recognise a few faces depicted
thereupon. Oo, also book in this sweet in store session
coming up - Syd
Arthur, 22nd October.
Secondly, as the grapevine may have confided, we have taken on a new
venue all of our own in Margate (name coming soon,
for now; 3 Cliff Terrace, Margate). Slashing through the
red tape has taken longer than we expected, so alas we aren't
opening just yet. However we are putting on a few special low
key events there in the next few months. Come. It means you can say
you were there at the beginning.
28th Oct
- Art's
Cruel Halloween party
10th Nov
- Smugglers
Session with Alabaster Deplume + The Magic Lantern
11th Nov
- Blind
Boy Paxton
2nd Dec
- Beans
On Toast
Finally, tonight
a Smugglers Session will be hosted by Canterbury's Free Range
Collective at Water Lane Coffee House. It will be a sort
of deconstructed Cocos Lovers - music coming from Molly's Lips, The Ladies of the Lake, Papylonian Babooshkees
and the piano maestro host, Sam Bailey.
A fine Thursday nights activity by even the highest standards.
If not tonight, no doubt we'll see you soon. Further, but not too
far, on down the trail. As they also indeed sometimes say.
Arthur
