FORTHCOMING GUESTS:

OCTOBER 25TH ? GILMORE & ROBERTS
(
http://www.gilmoreroberts.co.uk/)

Katriona Gilmore (fiddle, mandolin) started playing local folk clubs in the Knebworth area with her guitarist father at the age of 14. In 2011 she joined a new line-up of The Albion Band. Jamie Roberts (guitar) comes from a musical family which includes his sister Kathryn Roberts. He was a member of the young traditional band Kerfuffle and more recently joined a new venture, The Dovetail Trio. Together, they are known for their fine musicianship, award-winning songwriting and wonderful harmonies. They have been nominated for the BBC Radio2 Folk Awards on three occasions.

NOVEMBER 1ST ? HUNTER MUSKETT
(
http://huntermuskett.com/)

Hunter Muskett first came together at Avery Hill College in 1969, where they were all trainee teachers and for a few years were one of the cult bands on the folk scene. Now, after a gap of more than 35 years, they are back together for the occasional tour and performing both old and new material. We have very much enjoyed their visits to the Club over the last few years ? the old spark still seems to be there!

NOVEMBER 8TH ? THE TEACUPS
(
http://www.theteacups.co.uk/)

The Teacups are an a capella quartet who have been making a big name for themselves over the past few years on the UK festival circuit. Alex Cumming will be familiar to regulars at Broadstairs Folk Week and he is joined in Teacups by Kate Locksley, Rosie Calvert and Will Finn. All four studied for folk & traditional music degrees at Newcastle University, first coming together in 2010. Since then they have gone on to perform in clubs and festivals around the UK and Europe.

NOVEMBER 15TH ? KRISTINA OLSEN (USA)
(
http://kristinaolsen.net/)

It?s more than 12 years since Kristina Olsen last played at Dartford, then in the company of Australian cellist Peter Grayling. If you saw her then you?re almost certain to see her now! Kristina is one of the most entertaining and compelling performers on the international acoustic circuit, a superb multi-instrumentalist who is noted for her slide guitar playing. An award-winning songwriter with a big bluesy voice, her songs range from sassy bottleneck blues to lilting ballads to swing jazz to ?raunch and roll?. Add in her hilarious storytelling and it all makes for a diverse and satisfying musical experience.

NOVEMBER 22ND ? ANTHONY JOHN CLARKE & DAVE PEGG
(
http://www.anthonyjohnclarke.com/ & http://www.fairportconvention.com/)

Anthony John Clarke is one of the top singer songwriters on the scene today, through his creativity, hard work and dedication to his craft. His gigs are funny, challenging and extremely popular. Put him together with Dave Pegg (Fairport & Jethro Tull) on mandolin, guitar & vocals and they form, in their own words, ?a mischievous duo?. If their last visit is anything to go by, we have a real treat in store!

NOVEMBER 29TH ? CATHRYN CRAIG & BRIAN WILLOUGHBY
(
http://www.craigandwilloughby.com/)

Craig & Willoughby met in Nashville where he was writing songs for his debut solo album. They co-wrote several songs for that CD, including the poignant Alice?s Song, dedicated to Brian?s autistic niece. Brian?s British folk rock influence (ex-lead guitarist of Strawbs) mixes well with Cathryn?s roots, showcasing her voice and his guitar and their intricately crafted songs in a unique and dynamic way.
