come in for a browse!
It was smashing to see so many of you in over the last weekend. One
of the many highlights was a performance from The Indecision on
Sunday. Heres a photo of them relaxing on the green opposite, with
an array of impressive kites looming in the background.
Remember, happening this week is a special film and food
night, hosted by artist Tom Maryniak. This Thursday 6th April
- 'Slavic
Cinema & Eastern Bloc Food Night' is a wonder-filled
macabre evening which couples the films of Jan Svankmajer with a
Eastern-European menu. MORE DETAILS HERE

Polish
Sausage, Russian salad, and Central European sauerkraut: join
us at The Lighthouse for a culinary and cinematic exploration
of the senses hosted by artist Tom Maryniak. Centered around
the films of Czech filmmaker Jan Svankmajer, Tom will present a
selection of short films and an immersive intermediary feast. "Na zdraví!"
Since the 1960s, Jan Svankmajer (b. 1934) has been a pioneer of
surrealist cinema. Most famous for his extremely unusual
feature length versions of Alice in Wonderland (Alice 1988) and
Faust (Faust 1994), his lesser known short films have been
described by the Guardian's Rob Mackie as "often scary and
violent in an unhinged sort of way and with deeply perturbing
soundtracks, they also achieve a masterful blend of uneasy
comedy and beauty."
Tickets for this wonder-filled macabre night are £10 and
include films and food.
There is a lot of interest in the
night, with limited places available. If you haven't already
booked a ticket, you'll at least need to book in advance. Secure your place

Proving themselves a sterling, class live act
and rocking packed houses with their upbeat, West-Coast
harmonies and tripped-out, bitter-sweet Post-Country lyrics.
Expect The Hallelujah Trails to raise the roof, smash the barn

Based
in Paris, this is a rare chance to catch the band as they
embark on their UK tour. They perform a colourful, lively and
original blend of punchy pop, mixing effective rhythmic guitars
and hurried drums.

Support on the night will come from Estelle Mey. Inspired by
the landscapes of her native Iceland, she has honed a performance
of contrast - a raw rock sound with an underlying fragility.
