Brigitte Aphrodite is a punk poet, musician, theatre maker and feminist showgirl. With her band she has played Leeds and Reading Festivals, Bestival, Latitude, Kendal Calling and supported Kate Nash and Josie Long on extensive UK tours. Brigitte's debut studio album is due for release in 2017 to coincide with the return of her self-penned , acclaimed musical My Beautiful Black Dog which debuted at the Bush Theatre, London in 2014 and has featured on BBC Radio 4's Front Row, The Guardian, Times Culture, Glamour, Red and Elle magazine and gained a cult following online under the hashtag #MBBD. Brigitte is a proud mentor for youth charity, Arts Emergency. She has facilitated workshops for many young people and invented the sport Frunning (a mix of running and dancing!). The show, has had successful runs and achieved sell out at the Edinburgh fringe festival, the Southbank Centre & the Tom Thumb and is BACK bigger and better than ever before.

Gig meets theatre meets depression meets a tidal wave of glitter!

My Beautiful Black Dog is a piece of electrifying gig-theatre for people interested in music, comedy, poetry, theatre, and interested in the difficult and beauteous complexity of our mental health.

?A poetically wild musical about depression, but it's not depressing it's hopeful (I hope?) I believe in hope!'

?Black Dog is what Winston Churchill used to call his depression? I have a beautiful black dog and I called her Creshendorious.'
