How to Get Your Music Reviewed in The Journal of Music

We would LOVE to review everything. We really would! And we're working with new writers all the time. There are so many fantastic events and recordings that deserve coverage but unfortunately we cannot cover everything.

If you would like to be considered when we are planning our reviews schedule, here's 6 tips to keep us informed.

1. Album reviews: us a track and some information on your new recording. Soundcloud and YouTube are our preferred platforms. We'll contact you if we need a hard copy.

2. Live reviews: what concerts you have coming up and where. Please provide a few weeks' notice.

3. Book reviews:  a press release or a link to information on the publisher's website. We'll contact you if we need a hard copy.

4. Suggest a writer! Either someone who is already writing for The Journal of Music, or another writer who you think would do a great job.

5. Add your concert listings. See some examples below. We look at every listing that is added, so it's a great way of keeping us up to date. Start here.

6. Hang in there. If we don't catch a concert, or if it takes a while for an album or book review, it doesn't mean you are not on our radar! Follow us on Facebook and Twitter and stay in touch. :)
