Subject: Daphne's Flight Tonight
Hello
Guys
Here's
your reminder about Daphne's Flight tonight at the Gulbenkian with some
responses from others to the first dates of the tour earlier this week...
"If
you haven't got tickets to see Daphne's Flight somewhere on the tour then get
them, you are seriously going to miss out on THE MOST AMAZING concert, truly
jaw droppingly amazing. Go buy tickets"
"Fantastic Daphne's Flight performance tonight in Keswick. Waited twenty
years for this and the singing excelled expectation! Thank you ladies x"
"The show was amazing. You were obviously having a ball and your love and
respect for each other was palpable. Fantastically well done! X"
"Outstanding. Sublime.Thank you xx"
"Crazily,
indescribably off-the-register giants of ensemble-vocalising. When each and
every one of them is a spellbinding solo artist in their own right ... and then
you discover their preternatural cohesiveness as a group ... you exclaim:
"But why haven't we come across them?!". The answer being that
they've been tempering their chops these last 20 years and what I've stumbled
across is what all of us can now marvel at and embrace: spinetingling harmonies
and monstrously timbred and variegated individual voices skyrocketing every
which way. Spinetingling stuff."
Do
come if you can....half the seats are still empty and it's such a waste of so
much wonderfulness!
Huge
apologies re the Steeleye cock-up. Those that have already bought tickets will
have received a notification from the Gulbenkian this morning to say that a
very wrong ticket price was put up and over 100 tickets were sold, potentially
leaving me ?1000 out of pocket. Not a good day in the office and a reminder to
triple check not just your own work but other peoples as well.
Most
of the Autumn dates are now on the Folk in the Barn website... if you spot any
other glaring errors, please let me know.
Hope
to see you later, I'll be the one looking sheepish.
