Hi all It's
been an extraordinary week since we posted our new song "My Country Too"
- the response has gone way beyond anything we could possibly
have imagined. Around
110,000 people have seen the post on Facebook alone, with almost 1,000 people
sharing it. And more people have watched the video on YouTube (https://youtu.be/sGYMYrEbvak), listened
on Reverbnation (https://www.reverbnation.com/?/song/27948052-my-country-too?) or
seen something on Twitter, where we have a growing number of people using the
hashtag #iwantmycountryback. The
song seems to have really struck a chord. We'll be playing it at festivals
over the summer and on our 40th Celebration Tour later this year and we'd
love to hear people singing along. But for now, if you haven't yet
heard the song, please listen; and please do keep sharing it and passing it
on. Even if you shared it last week, you can still reach new people by
sharing again. This is
a song which seems to be made for social media, with more and more people
listening because someone they know has shared it, as it keeps spreading from
one person to the next. This is about grassroots movement, not top-down
promotion by a record company. We know
that not everyone who listens to Oysterband agrees with our politics. But
if you think the song says something worth saying, and if you'd like to help
us ensure that more and more people hear it, please pass it on.
