Now onto details of all this week's events ...

WEDNESDAY 21st JUNE
COCOS LOVERS + FUNKE AND THE TWO TONE BABY - 'SUMMER OF LOVE'
Doors 7pm // Live music from 8:30pm
Tickets ?8 in advance - available via Smugglers Records Shop and online HERE
(Tickets ?10 on the door - subject to availability)

The Lighthouse is set to host a special double-bill of live music to mark the 50th anniversary of the ?Summer Of Love' phenomenon.

In 1967, nearly 100,000 free-spirited adventurers congregated in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood in San Francisco, USA to join a cultural revolution that created some of the era's most memorable music, art, fashion and literature.

The show will feature live music from Cocos Lovers, with special support from Funke And The Two Tone Baby. Operating well beyond the remit of alt-folk, Cocos Lovers are a distinctive musical force, seamlessly channelling influences from Africa, the US Deep South and several other real and imagined corners of the globe, while staying ever faithful to their Kentish roots. Their music swells with powerful choir-like harmonies and glorious widescreen melodies, and they've earned a reputation for fantastic live performances with an ever-changing instrumental line-up of mandolin, acoustic and electric guitars, violin, musical saw, flute and a unique blend of drums and percussion.

Support on the night will come from Funke And The Two Tone Baby. Often described as "a one man sonic explosion", his sound fuses frenzied alt-blues with metronomic dance beats. Combining guitar and harmonica with beatboxing and effects that seamlessly collide the organic with the mechanical to create a fresh sound of unstoppable rhythm and unrelenting melody.

The evening will feature original music from each act, with occasional cover versions from the 1967 era specially arranged for the event, along with projections of footage of the time that will forever be remembered as the ?Summer Of Love'.

They are an English lo-fi, psych-folk, multi-instrumentalist duo from The South Hams in Devon. They play a hybrid of traditional folk wrapped in melancholic psychedelic soundscapes that paint picturesque portraits of the English countryside.

Live, The Diamond Family Archive craft a mesmeric live-show from drums, acoustic guitars, lots of effects pedals, keyboards set to drone, tape delay, loops and bellows, bows, harmonicas, cosmic harps, toys and broken cymbals. All coming together to create music which holds echos of post-rock, folk, spiritual soul music, psychedelic rock and lo-fi.

SATURDAY 24th JUNE
CAROL GRIMES
Open from 5pm // Live music from 8:30pm
FREE ENTRY

They will be playing a selection of music from Joni Mitchell to serious funk, heart felt songs to swinging bebop.

Carol Grimes has had an enormous career and an audience with her is not to be missed.

The band features the talents of Jennifer Maidman on bass, Richard Bundy on keys and Mr. X on drums.

In 1969, she joined the band Delivery and recorded one album before departing for a solo career. Her debut solo album, Warm Blood (1974), was recorded with members of Area Code 615 and the Average White Band. She recorded her second album in Memphis, Tennessee, with the Brecker Brothers, Donald "Duck" Dunn, and The Memphis Horns. She founded the band Eyes Wide Open in 1984. Her career expanded into teaching and working in musical theatre. In the 1990s, she worked with the group Shout.

SUNDAY 25th JUNE
'SUNDAY SERVICE' feat. MAMPAMA
Open from 12pm // Live music from 4pm

They are a African fusion band playing an uplifting mixture of songs and tunes from West and South Africa. With a love of Highlife music, and especially palm-wine style guitar, the crisscross rhythms are the foundation for this band's tight sound.
