FORTHCOMING GUESTS:

JULY 4TH - SPIKEDRIVERS
(http://www.spikedrivers.co.uk/)

Spikedrivers are Ben Tyzack (guitar, vocals & harmonica), Constance Redgrave (bass guitar, vocals & percussion) and Maurice McElroy (vocals & percussion).  They were formed in 1992 as a project based around Ben's love for early blues and take inspiration from their country's rich musical heritage.  Spikedrivers' vocal harmonies, songwriting, and unique instrumentation make a fresh and exciting sound.

JULY 11TH - WIZZ JONES
(http://www.wizzjones.com/)

Wizz Jones is a bit of an enigma.  He has busked with Rod Stewart and Alex Campbell.  Eric Clapton, John Renbourn and Ralph McTell have all called him an important influence.  He enjoyed great success in the 1970's.  Yet in the 80's he almost disappeared from view.  However, he has long been a favourite at Dartford and we are delighted that there has been renewed interest in his music in more recent years.

JULY 18TH - HICKS & GOULBOURN
(http://www.hicksandgoulbourn.com/)

Over the past few years Steve Hicks and Lynn Goulbourn have become an established act on the folk and acoustic scene in the UK and abroad.  Their music is characterised by pure acoustic tones, reflective lyrics, well-crafted arrangements and intricate guitar playing.  Steve is a breathtaking guitarist, having trained in both classical and jazz, and nowadays plays in a wide range of genres.  Lynn is notable for her fine vocals.  Together, they have a relaxed and engaging presence on stage.

JULY 25TH - CUP O'JOE
(https://www.cupojoemusic.com/)

Cup O'Joe is a Northern Ireland-based trio made up of siblings Benjamin, Reuben and Tabitha Agnew.  With Reuben on guitar and mandolin, Benjamin on upright bass, and Tabitha on banjo and fiddle, their music is a fusion of hard driving Bluegrass with a mix of Jazz, Old Time, and Swing.  They have been attracting a lot of attention, playing at festivals and events all over Europe and in 2015 were nominees for the BBC Radio2 Young Folk Award.  This will be an evening to look forward to.

AUGUST

The Club will be CLOSED for regular guest nights but there will be SINGAROUNDS at the usual venue on at least some Tuesdays - more details in the next newsletter and on the website.
