RECORD CLUB - BRING YOUR OWN
VINYL NIGHT

|
The
Lighthouse has concocted a night to please all the vinyl lovers
out there. Enthusiasts are invited to share their love of music
with this chance to bring their selections to be played on the
in-house sound system.
All styles of music are welcome, as long as it comes on vinyl.
Participants are allowed to select one side of a 12" LP or a
small selection of 7" discs.
Come on up to the house for a spin!

FRIDAY 3rd NOVEMBER
JET COHEN & THE AERIALS

|
The band performs an original blend of deep
groove funk, rock and blues. Members of the band have played
along side the likes of Wilco Johnson, Boy George, The Jesus
& Mary Chain, Robert Wyatt and Ian Dury.
Their hard grooving sound of guitars and drums is laden with
lots of bass, accented with the unlikely, but welcome addition
of trombone.

SATURDAY 4th NOVEMBER
TWO MAN TING

The
band was formed in 2004 when Sierra Leonean master-drummer
Jah-man Aggrey, and virtuoso guitarist Jon Lewis teamed up to
form this dynamic duo. They are established festival favourites
with their feel-good African vibes.
fRoots magazine said, "full
of such bright tuneful moments, this will really take off in an
intimate live setting."

His
original songs incorporate the rootsy sounds of artists like
John Butler and Jack Johnson while his laid-back soft vocal and
expressive guitar playing is reminiscent of more contemporary
artists like John Mayer and Ben Howard.
With a Dylan-esque emphasis in his lyrics, Will's interesting
mixture of influences has helped him carve out songs that are
melodic, meaningful and engaging.
