Michael learnt his playing from his father Mick from West Limerick, part of  the rich music area Sliabh Luachra . When the family moved to Manchester in the 1950s he taught a young Michael much of what he knew, including tunes not in the common repertoire. Michael's CD The Cat's Rambles (Veteran  VT160CD) had great reviews.Tonight Michael is joined by fiddle player Ed Barrett who is featured on  the CD   https://youtu.be/j0vIPzO1gq4 Michael Sheehy with Ed Barrett

PLUS  MARIANNE McALEER    Born into Kilburn's vibrant London-Irish community, Marianne learned her earliest songs from her Cavan father, Jim McPhillips. She has a passion for singing and is an award winner at both the All Britain and All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil. She is also likely to lilt if the need for a dance arises before the fiddler has reached the crossroads!
