9th February
Noah's Cape
Many thanks to all who came and enjoyed the concert with Geoff
Lakeman on Friday. What a delightful evening it was, with a lovely
opening set from Rod Jenkins, and two sets of mixed
songs and music from Geoff and his Crane Duet Concertina. The
Wessex Acoustic Singalong Choir were in good voice and made the
most of all the choruses on offer, well known and 'new to us'.
Lovely tales of his highly musical family and his beloved Devon and
Cornwall, rounded off the cosy entertainment.
Coming next we have Noah's
Cape on
February 9th. Noah's Cape are Linda Watkins,
Marian Wedley and Mark Niel. 3 songwriters,3 voices, 3 sets of
musical talent. Delicious harmonies, original & familiar
song. Warm up your voices ready to join in again.
Opening support is from sweet voiced Wendy Jane,
who appeared with her husband a while ago as support as a duo, The
Morrows.

This concert is the chance for you to see an up-coming act you may
not have heard of before. We take time out in the summer to attend
festivals, not just to enjoy the music but also to 'spot'
great acts who deserve a wider audience. We cannot afford to take a
chance like this too often, but we do try to give artistes the
chance to become known and loved in a new area for them. You
know from past Wessex concerts, we always pick great performers so
have confidence in coming along for a night of great music and
songs.
Linda Watkins has been a few times to the club with her band
and always entertains. This is something different from her but no
doubt it will have the magic touch Linda brings to all her
performances.
Please mark your
