Dear friends
and song collectors,
A quick note to bring your attention to The Song Hunters,
a new two-part radio documentary for BBC Radio 4 on song collecting
past and present, featuring Sam Lee, Shirley Collins, SCC favourite
Freda Black, and many of the participants from our most recent
field trip to Ireland (which is the main concern of the second
episode, The Age of Extinction).
Both episodes will be available for a limited time on the BBC
website, or you can use the BBC Radio iPlayer app. You should be
able to listen again from anywhere in the world, although there
might be restrictions in a few selected regions that we're currently
not aware of.
Please find links to both episodes below:
The Song Hunters 1 - The
Land Without Music
The Song Hunters 2 - The
Age of Extinction
With special thanks to Max O'Brien and TBI Media.
