A special ticketed show from poet and comedian Luke Wright, with his new show entitled ?Down The Pub'.

Flamboyant, political and riotously funny, Luke creates inventive poems with loads of heart. Part Essex wide boy, part dandy fop, he writes from the side-lines about small-town tragedies and national farce, then performs his work with snarl and spit.

Since 2006 he has written and performed nine spoken word shows and two verse plays, touring them to top literary and arts festivals. Alongside his own shows, Luke is John Cooper-Clark's regular support act, performing at venues such as The London Palladium and The Palace Theatre in Manchester.

FRIDAY 8th JUNE
TRISKELLES (France)
Pub open from 5pm // Live music from 8:30pm
FREE ENTRY

Hailing from the shores of the Opal Coast, the group's frenzied folk summons up images of misty bars on the port.

Their repertoire is a melting pot of traditional Celtic tunes, rock and folk music from around the world, reinterpreted in the spirit of bands like The Pogues.

SATURDAY 9th JUNE
BIG BAD WOLF
Pub open from 5pm // Live music from 8:30pm
FREE ENTRY

The London based band's sound features washy guitars, ambient vocals, brassy hooks and deep grooves. Their distinctive sound arises largely from the band's consistently egalitarian process of group composition, where all four members are present from conception to completion of each song.

BBC Radio 3's Jez Nelson said, "I really like the kind of combination of lazy trombone and darting guitar riffs."
