Subject: Upcoming Show Tuesday 26th June
Many thanks to those who came to see West Weston's Bluesonics, being the first show at the new venue. We were 25% down on booked numbers due to the flooding, however, still a great success and a show to remember. Superb attendance by the staff at the St. George also contributed to this.
Any feedback you have on the new venue, parking, stage atmosphere, seating positions, food, bar, etc., would be very much appreciated.
No full review this month other than to say that we were treated to a display of world class musicianship from the rock solid rhythm section of Jamie Lawrence and Mike Thorn, complemented by the relentless guitar playing of Paul Garner, who played many thousands of notes during the evening, all perfectly timed and not a wrong one amongst them! Then of course West himself, without doubt one of the world's finest harmonica players, a great singer and all-round entertainer. True professionals, thanks very much guys!
For this month, on 26th June we have something a little less traditional in the form of Kat & Co. Described as the ?New Cool', one of London's most innovative blues bands and ?a pressure cooker of Steamy Blues' (Blues in Britain) that is 'Smoky, Sassy and Very Classy' (Blues Matters). Accordingly a quality evening, with a difference, in store.
The venue is the St. George Hotel. If you drive past with the Roffen on your left, the venue is a couple of hundred yards up New Road, on the left. There is on-site parking both on the roof, accessed from the front and in the basement at the rear, although you can find plenty of on-street parking within a short walk. Parking in one of the car parks requires (immediate) registration in the venue, available on panels both in the lobby and in the performance room itself. The website address is:
Please enter the venue via the main front door and make your way down to the Stanley Ballroom.
Tickets ?12.00, pay on the door. Bookings to me at the return email address. Doors open 7.30pm, band on stage 8.45pm. Good food, reasonably priced, available to eat at your table if required. Further information, upcoming shows, location map etc., available at www.bottleneckblues.com.
So, that's Kat & Co appearing Tuesday 26th June.
Please do support.
