Good afternoon to you all! We bring news from the
revolving doors of The Lighthouse.
As always, we have a fine selection of musical events this week. This
includes a special this coming Sunday. To celebrate the fact that
there's a Bank Holiday Monday on the way, we'll be hosting a band in
the evening, as well as our afternoon 4pm session!
SUNDAY 5th APRIL
4pm - 'Sunday Service' featuring The Native Oyster Band - Free Entry
This sextet of experienced musicians will be "funkin' it up New
Orleans style" with original songs, swinging calypsos and Mardi Gras
inspired grooves.
8pm - The Sea Slugs - Free Entry
The Sea Slugs' unique music is borne out of a collective condemnation
of intolerance, a strong sense of solidarity with fellow humans, and
a passion for the music of Fela Kuti. The result is a visceral, often
turbulent sound with a subversive edge, subjecting the listener to
songs beyond a common pop structure.
The band boasts an impressive line-up of up to 16 members! Whether
all of them will be performing at this show is yet to be seen, but
either way, it promises to be an exciting big-band experience.
