The Lighthouse will reopen on Wednesday the 29th to
host a monthly ticketed jazz session. This week will feature the
remarkable playing of Ian East, backed by the house trio.
Daevid Allen, founder of Gong and Soft Machine, was quoted as saying,
"Ian East
is here to put wings to your heart and offer a fresh new contextual
relationship with your thinking box."
Ian grew up in multi-cultural London within a stimulating home
environment of jazz and classical music. He began saxophone studies
at the age of 11 and completed his musical education at the Royal
Academy of Music. Ian has been musical director and/or composer for
numerous bands over the years including Soundial (nu-jazz world beat)
Brasil Universo (Brazilian jazz) and Momentito (contemporary jazz
originals).
