special ticketed event which is now well within reach ...
WEDNESDAY
26th OCTOBER
Rob Heron & The Tea Pad Orchestra
Tickets ?7 in advance - available behind the bar, via
Smugglers Records Shop and online HERE.
(Tickets ?9 on the door - subject to availability)
Rob Heron & the Tea Pad Orchestra are one of the hardest
working bands in the UK roots circuit.
With thousands of touring miles under their belts, they have earned
themselves a sizeable fan base in the UK, Europe and beyond. Based
in Newcastle Upon Tyne, they play their own brand of Western Swing,
Blues, Gypsy Jazz and Country, or "North Eastern Swing" as they've
coined it.
Their style is more eclectic than most, influenced by early 20th
century American music, with the addition of "razor-sharp" solos,
great arrangements and original songs; their music harks back to a
golden age whilst staying perfectly modern. The songs are penned by
Rob Heron, a crazy fool for country music and a full time
dandy-cowboy. His songs are full of character, satire, and good old
fashion hollerin'.
The band, a hot six-piece, features Ben Fitzgerald (guitar), Tom
Cronin (mandolin), Colin Nicholson (accordion), Ted Harbot (double
bass) and Paul Archibald (drums).
The best way to experience Rob Heron & the Tea Pad Orchestra is
at a live show!

The
London based band play original, multi-coloured , infectiously
riotous guitar-pop anthems. They're a band who knows how to
have fun with good music and have caused a stir with the likes
of Ronnie Wood who congratulates them on their ability to
produce, "Stupendous
pop rock in the style of real bands from the 60's. Itchy Teeth
are the only band doing it right these days. If you think
anyone is writing a better song then you're surely wrong. I
can't get enough of these lads."
The band have recently released their debut self-titled album
and have been enjoying successful tours in Europe.

Vei
performs original fresh, raw, emotional pop with her full band
comprising of drums, bass, keys, guitar, cello and vocals.
Starting with upbeat and summery, Vei's songs will take you on
a journey to a deeper world of sound.
Kent based singer-songwriter and musician Poggy grew up in a
family of six in Deal. Music filled the house during these
early years and it was through playing piano and harmonising
with her four sisters that her musical foundation was
cast. Poggy's voice is like a raw element calling you back
to the wild. It is true that she enjoys immersing herself in
nature and movement as often as possible. This lifestyle spills
out into the sound of her songs with the help of a fabulous
group of musicians.
