Rob Heron & The Tea Pad Orchestra // Bring
Your Own Vinyl Night // Halloween Hootenanny 2016 // The Little
Unsaid // 'Sunday Service' feat. The Imaginary Boogaloo Band
Welcome to this week's edition of The Lighthouse Newsletter! Before
we get stuck in with details of all this week's events, its another
reminder about a special ticketed show we have going on tomorrow.
These chaps stormed it last time they graced our stage!
WEDNESDAY
26th OCTOBER
Rob Heron & The Tea Pad Orchestra
Tickets ?7 in advance - available behind the bar, via
Smugglers Records Shop and online HERE.
(Tickets ?9 on the door - subject to availability)
Rob Heron & the Tea Pad Orchestra are one of the hardest
working bands in the UK roots circuit.
With thousands of touring miles under their belts, they have earned
themselves a sizeable fan base in the UK, Europe and beyond. Based
in Newcastle Upon Tyne, they play their own brand of Western Swing,
Blues, Gypsy Jazz and Country, or "North Eastern Swing" as they've
coined it.
Their style is more eclectic than most, influenced by early 20th
century American music, with the addition of "razor-sharp" solos,
great arrangements and original songs; their music harks back to a
golden age whilst staying perfectly modern. The songs are penned by
Rob Heron, a crazy fool for country music and a full time
dandy-cowboy. His songs are full of character, satire, and good old
fashion hollerin'.
The band, a hot six-piece, features Ben Fitzgerald (guitar), Tom
Cronin (mandolin), Colin Nicholson (accordion), Ted Harbot (double
bass) and Paul Archibald (drums).
The best way to experience Rob Heron & the Tea Pad Orchestra is
at a live show!

Undoubtedly
one of the most industrious bands on the UK roots circuit, with
thousands of touring miles under their collective belts since
forming in 2010, Rob Heron and the Tea Pad Orchestra have
deservedly earned themselves a sizeable fan base in the UK, Ireland
and beyond. Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, they play their own
brand of Western swing, blues, Gypsy jazz and country, or
"North Eastern Swing" as they've memorably coined it.
Drawing on an eclectic range of styles and influenced by early
20th century American music, with the addition of "razor-sharp"
solos, irresistible arrangements and an expanding repertoire of
original material; their music harks back to a golden age
whilst staying perfectly modern. The band's songs, full of
character, satire, and good old-fashioned hollerin', are

Over
two years of relentless touring in the UK and Europe, The
Little Unsaid has gained a reputation for leaving audiences
emotionally riveted, with impassioned and cathartic live shows
that slide between Nick Cave-esque intensity and the tender,
poetic sincerity of Leonard Cohen.
Led by multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer John
Elliott, the band are currently working on their fourth album
with Radiohead engineer Graeme Stewart. This ambitious new
collection of Elliott's hauntingly personal songs celebrates
the reawakening of love after emerging from a period of severe
emotional trauma, with the band refining what Dots and Dashes
has called "a giddying conflation of folk, electronica and
lavish orchestration ? one of the supposed genre's grandest successes
thus far."
